This is my last ditch computer safety device. On this USB drive—which lives in my backpack—is a copy of the Snow Leopard installer and packages of the software I need most in the field, including Lightroom and Aperture. In a computer emergency, I can boot off this drive and use the tools on it to troubleshoot things. In an extreme computer emergency, I can use it to completely install a system and get back to work as soon as possible.
The Boy Scout Motto still applies. Be prepared.
Be prepared, indeed. /likes
