The Central

Located conveniently above Clarke Quay MRT, but an absolute maze inside. Escalators are hidden in the weirdest places and the basement is.. ugh. A mess is understating it.

Pasta de Waraku has a tiny shopfront, tiny kitchen, decent seating that looks out at the river (and the G-Max rides), and nice food. Don’t go if you’re looking for a selection of pasta with tomato-based sauces, their stuff is mostly cream based. Spaghetti and fettucine. $15/pax upwards.

Azabu Sabo (the cafe, not the ice cream shop) is expensive. So, if you’re there just for desserts, the sundaes are actually the most worth it – a large blob of soft-serve vanilla and a scoop of whatever – as compared to a milkshake for around the same price. The matcha ice cream was nicely smooth and strong. Heard that both the matcha ice cream with dumplings and red bean and some hot balls concoction are pretty good too. Expect to spend more than $10/pax.
