designtank:

Designer Nicole Meyer tasked herself with designing a logo a day for each of Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes, because she thought lake logos tended to be, well, ugly. These are three of the logos completed so far, my favorites.

Update: This project is featured in Fast Company; Meyer took up the project because she missed Wisconsin after relocating to Arizona, and she was looking to build her portfolio with a personal project. She researches each lake’s surrounding community to find out as much as she can to come up with the look. The project will take 27 years to complete.

That is really quite a personal project, in more than one way.
