R40 Fan Error
Blowing into the exhaust vent and giving the machine a good shake seems to (temporarily?) fix the Thinkpad R40’s fan error.

By the way, I hold my German audiobook and Gutenberg edition of Siddhartha in higher esteem than your teacher, and insist that the final 'a' in 'Siddhartha' is NOT silent.
