simko: I know it’s old news by now, but for some reason I kept thinking about Sam Fuller’s Flying as I was bouncing around the city today. Artist Sam Fuller opens our eyes to the vertical beauty of the city, in this case New York, by filming the flight of a paper airplane as it descends from a tall building. Fuller takes a rather mundane act, the folding and flying of a paper airplane, and...

markherrmann: By Joe Mahoney and Christos Pitelis: Why did the chicken cross the road? “We must first study the chickens in aggregate; once we understand the chicken industry, then we can explain the individual chicken’s conduct.” — Joe Bain “We must study the potential mobility barriers of a meaningful strategic group of chickens to understand the individual chicken’s conduct.” — Richard...

Adium 1.3.3 is 52MB! Ugh.  I just had dinner in Carls Jr for the first time today – the portions are big, I like the chilli cheese fries (which taste more like Japanese curry), I can’t get over the ginormous 32oz cup, and the prices vaguely scale accordingly.  Having exhibited before, it doesn’t feel as awkward this time standing around and wondering when to approach people. It helps...

I used to respond with a wan smile whenever one of my Scout classmates bring up the perennially nearly-forgotten incident of me explaining a knot to him in sec 1. He eventually rose to Patrol Leader and Quarter-Master, and is now in Ventures, and I stayed where I was far far away.  I am content.  Where do those non-climbing carabiners come from? I want one.

I’ve just elevated my monitor by two encyclopedia volumes (7cm), to see if it helps my shoulder pain.. if it does then I’ll elevate my laptop too and get a nice keyboard (or a proper monitor mount).  I’ll give portrait mode a try for a few hours, but I suspect the much shortened menubar will be a problem as usual. It won’t get much better with a 20”, but a 24”...
