Baking
与众不同: I gifted six smallish bags of ugly almond cookies today, and I’ve already received two nice comments about it.
Improvement for next round: add icing sugar.
I don’t get it. Is domain squatting/extortion so profitable that companies can sit on hundreds of domains for years and years? Annoying.
Following the herd is a sure way to mediocrity.

Natures
Creativity, action, service guiding questions for students graduating in 2010 onwards have been slightly changed (as per 2008 ed)..
Is it a real task that I am going to undertake? What is this task?
What are my personal goals for this activity?
Does it have real consequences for other people and for me? What are these?
How will the task extend me as a person?
Will be task be...
Water
Three cheers for water PE! It managed to give me a migraine that lasted the entire school day, after 3 migraine-free weeks.
All good things must come to an end I suppose, but not in a chlorinated fashion, please.

Essay
This is not good. I’m alternately writing and editing my 1500-word essay, and the word count has been steadily decreasing from slightly under 700 down to about 500.

I was watching 10m men’s sync diving results appear on my screen ~10s before it appeared on TV.
So I have figured out that all girls are crazy and the secret is that you just...

Beacons
Facebook Beacon is evil. I just spotted Kongregate sending a notification to Facebook (which I’m logged into).

eval()
Here’s an article about appraisals and compensation that might be vaguely connected to merit pay.
The scenario is a Scrum team, but it probably crosses over into other organisations as well.

A woman goes into a shop to buy a hat. The hat maker takes a length of ribbon, and deftly folds and twists it into a beautiful hat.
“How much?” she asks.
“Two hundred dollars,” he replies.
“For a length of ribbon!?” she exclaims.
He smiles and just as deftly disassembles the hat, and hands the ribbon to her. “For the hat, two hundred dollars. The...

Two oversized, low-hanging national flags just flew by my window. Two.
Weird.
No! Screw that. You want someone who’s superhumanly godlike. Someone who...
