The largest Rube Goldberg machine you’re going to see, for a long, long time. A multi-floor contraption in Munich, but that’s just one out of 8 worldwide locations! Wow.  Credits to IDEO.

My calendar for the next two months looks rather empty. The only scheduled source of entertainment are the weddings..

I really don’t know how people can sleep with earphones on and still have them on in the morning.

For the first time in a long, long time, I’m worrying if a wound is going to scar.

Extreme elevations
I was reading about elevators today and suddenly wondered whether the new NTUC building has double-deck elevators.. when I visited Microsoft Singapore there, I saw two separate lobbies for even/odd floors, one floor apart, but had thought that they were separate shafts. Maybe not.

38 points, right on target! The only thing I am dissatisfied with is my ‘good’ for my service learning project, possibly the result of bias by a chinese teacher. The sole Indian guy in the group got the same; I was the sole normal Chinese guy.

Out of today’s 200 or so shots, I think a 5% ★★★★ (boast!) rate is pretty good, and a 20% ★★★ (flickr/facebook it!) rate is fantastic.  I am happy. But I need to work on my manual focus skills.. or get an AF confirm chipped adapter.

Apparel
This is a world where people can (successfully) market things like the Das Keyboard, yet plain, printless black swim trunks are nowhere to be found. Even the low quality ones at the hypermarket have some attempt at a line or stripe or whatever.  Maybe I’m not looking in the right places. Hmm.

Moral Sense Test, by a lab at Harvard Psychology. Makes you wonder how differently you’d react when you’re really in one of those moral dilemmas.

“Oh, you mean there are chips in this? … no wonder that chunk tasted like...”
– Me, outside Chippy’s at Raffles City. The $4.60 fish was almost too large for both me and my friend, and we’re not small eaters. Way more filling than some Macs/KFC/Mos/BK/Yoshinoya/Subway $6 meal, but you’ll want a drink, the salt and vinegar is unexpectedly salty.

Trust is being able to tell someone things without first having to swear them to secrecy. And really expect them not to spill.  Starbucks’ chai latte is very different from Coffee Bean stuff. I’m undecided, but I spent 1.5h drinking the latter.  BBQs leave me feeling sick. After standing the show for 3 hours, there’s really no appetite left; I keep drinking thanks to the heat,...

theafroape: Often in our attempts to develop a set of values to govern ourselves by, the underlying emotions we truly feel conflict with what we want to believe. Some want to be noble, brave, but they’re afraid of things. Things they don’t understand. But it is overcoming this fear that makes them brave. Some want to be honest, sincere, but they understand the complexities in the world....
